IPABRA Pedigree Auction
Welcome to another great auction for IPABRA! We have lots of top horses consigned in this auction and lots of fresh new bloodlines to add to everyone’s stables. Below are the following rules to participate in the auction:
BIDDING
You can bid one of two ways:
1) FLAT BID (“I bid 5 cents”). An example of a properly formatted Flat Bid: Lot #23 (you may copy-and-paste the lot "title" from the catalog, or you may copy-and-paste the lot description from the bid update) - flat bid $0.05 (or you may write out 5 cents). So in your message to me it might appear as "Lot #23 Unnamed Appaloosa out of Spotted Beauty - flat bid $0.05."
2) OVER THE TOP BIDS (“I bid over whatever the top going price is on this horse up to $7.00”) All OTT bids must list a specified top bid! In the event that you do not list a specified top bid then your bid is INVALID and will not be entered into the auction. An example of a properly formatted Over the Top Bid: Lot #23 (you may copy-and-paste the lot "title" from the catalog, or you may copy-and-paste the lot description from the bid update) - OTT up to $7.00. Your message to me might appear as "Lot #23 Unnamed Appaloosa out of Spotted Beauty - OTT up to $7.00."
For the sake of simplicity, bids will increase by $0.05 amounts when I am calculating them.
I will do my best to contact bidders to confirm their bid amounts, but it is a huge time-saver if you format your bids correctly the first time you submit them. This is critically important towards the end of the auction when people tend to submit more bids!
Do not bid for what you cannot pay, as we have had some horses go in the past for over $20.00 per horse! Just last year (2016) we had a bidder state she was unable to pay for any of her bids, and she had bid on MANY auction lots. I do understand that "life happens" & it is remarkably easier to cancel your bids BEFORE the bidding deadline - please, please, PLEASE do not wait until after the bidding deadline closes as this is highly unfair to the other bidders participating in the auction. You are welcome to bid on new horses or increase old bids as often as you like. I will be posting current bid prices each week on the IPABRA Yahoo group and will keep the appropriate page updated on the auction web site (the IPABRA Facebook group will receive notice when the bid update is posted). KEEP TRACK OF THE HORSES YOU ARE BIDDING ON -- do not write me and expect me to make a list of all of the horses you are currently holding bids for! ONLY CURRENT IPABRA MEMBERS MAY BID IN THIS AUCTION.
Please list the hip number (lot number) and the horse’s name (or in the case of an unnamed foal, the name of the dam) when bidding to avoid confusion. All bids must be made in increments of 5 cents. DO NOT BID ON WHAT YOU CANNOT PAY FOR! There are a few IPABRA members who have been permanently barred from future auctions for failing to pay for their horses on time ‑ don’t let this happen to you!
PAYMENTS
Please note that many of our generous donors have requested that payment be sent to the IPABRA Treasurer, Chris Wallbruch, directly. Please pay close attention when bidding -- some lots are 100% donations, some are 100% donations with money going to Chris, some are fractional donations. At the conclusion of the auction, I will post contact information for Chris for those who need/want to send payment directly to her. All others, please contact the consignors to find their preference for payments before sending any money!
Please send all bids to Cindi Nakagawa at [email protected] . Happy bidding!
